Heels Vs Pumps

Both Heels, so to say High Heels and Pumps are different styles of shoes worn in different occasions by women.High heels, as the name implies, have a high pointed heel that raises the heel of the wearer significantly higher than the toes. This heel is generally 2 inches or more to be classified. High heels make legs of the wearer long and slender, and also more toned.

There are many types of high heels available in the market and pumps are one of them. The reason they are called "Pumps" is because they are closed toe shoes. The shoe goes upwards on sides of the foot and is usually without buckles. It is more formal in nature and suitable for wearing in offices by girls and ladies. It is easier to take off and put on again in comparison to high heels with buckles. Simply, pumps are closed toe, closed heel shoes without laces and buckles that have a high heel.

High heels are worn in parties by women with dresses that have frills and laces to look more attractive. Pumps are more of sober in comparison though today even pumps are available in lots of colors as opposed to only black pumps that were available earlier.

Ready or not - Bridget Mendler ( Lyrics )

I'm kinda girl
who doesn't say a word
who sits at the curb
and waits for the world
But I'm about to break out
about to break out
I'm like a crook tonight
I caught you staring at me
and I was thinking clearly
and now I'm like a bee
and I'm huntin for
the honey
and I'm kinda shy but
you're super fly
I could be your kryptonite
Oh.....
light my heart up baby
like a matchstick
Oh.....
and hit the gas quick
ready or not
here I come
where you at
the night is young
in the crowd
the music's loud
but I will
find
you
ready or not
here I come
I like your face
do you like my song?
just sing it
la la la
la la la
and I will find you
ready or not
O..o..o...o...

ready or not
O..o..o...o...
hello my name is
nice to meet you
I think you're famous
where have I seen you?
you'll be my william
I'll be your kate
livin like a fairytale
we could have a palace
right next to oprah
37 cars and a yacht
down in Boca
take me away
where ever you say
yeah we could be
setting sail
Oh.....
light my heart up baby
like a matchstick
Oh.....

Oh....
and hit the gas quick
ready or not
here I come
where you at
the night is young
in the crowd
the music's loud
but I will
find
you
ready or not
here I come
I like your face
do you like my song?
just sing it
la la la
la la la
and I will find you
ready or not
O..o..o...o...

ready or not
O..o..o...o...
ready or not
here I come here I come
you're like breath of
fresh air in my lungs
you and me dance from
the night to the dawn
ready or not
here I come boy it's on
ready or not
here I come here I come
here I come here I come
you're like breath of
fresh air in my lungs
you and me dance from
the night to the dawn
ready or not
here I come boy it's on

ready or not
here I come
where you at
the night is young
in the crowd

Dosa Vs Thosé

Ever Since I ate my first Dosa, I was trying to figure it out the difference between Sri Lankan Thosé and dosa. When I googled this I found that Dosa and Thosé is same. Because Thosé is actually an Indian Food. The difference I found in Dosa and Thosé is that Dosa is crispy and thinner while Thosé is thick and no crisp. But the way we Sri Lankans make Thosé  , is different from Indian Dosa though actually Dosa and Thosé have to be same. Both of these food got almost the same recipe. Then I wondered why I always felt there is difference. So I searched more about this. At Last I figured out what makes the difference in taste.  Both are same traditionally. But the difference comes with 2 ingredients which are used in making both dosa and Thosé. It’s the Rice and Urad Daal. When we make Dosa , we use Urad Daal (Hindi) or Ulundu (Sinhalese) or Black Gram (English) and Rice grind and make it into a paste. But we use the flour form of both rice and Urad Daal for Thosé most probably in Sri Lanka.

Recipe for Dosa

Ingredients
  • 3 cups rice
  • 1 cup skinless split urad daal
  • 3/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil

Preparation

Wash the rice and urad daal well. Add the fenugreek seeds to the mix and fill enough water in the rice-daal bowl to cover them about 2" deep. Soak overnight. The next morning, drain all the water from the rice and Urad daal. Now put some in a food processor and grind - adding very little water if necessary - to a smooth yet slightly grainy paste. When all the rice-daal mix is ground like this, put it into a large mixing bowl and add enough water to make a batter. The consistency of the batter should be such that it thickly coats a spoon dipped in it.Now add salt to taste and keep the Dosa batter aside in a warm, dark spot, covered, for 6-8 hours. After this fermentation, stir the batter well. It is now ready to make Dosas.
Put some cooking oil in a bowl and keep ready. Fill the bawl upto the 3/4 level with Dosa batter. Gently pour this batter onto the center of a pan - just as you would for a pancake - till the bowl is empty.
Now begin to spread the batter in sweeping circular motions to form a pancake. When the upper surface begins to look cooked (it will no longer look soft or runny), flip the Dosa. By this time, ideally, the surface that was underneath should be light golden in color. Allow to cook for 1 minute after flipping.
The Dosa is done.So Roll it and Enjoy the taste with Sambar or Coconut Chutney.

Recipe for Thosé

  • 1 cup Urad daal flour
  • 2 cups white rice flour
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • a pinch of fenugreek seeds

Preparation

Mix all ingredients and cover and keep aside for at least one hour. The batter should not be too thick. Almost like a pancake consistency.(add water as needed) Mix the above to the batter. Heat a pan until very hot. Apply  oil with a pastry brush. Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the griddle and spread it around with the back of a spoon. Flip over and cook the other side. The Thosé  is done.So Roll it and Enjoy the taste with Sambar or Coconut Chutney.

So Enjoy! :)

Hair Straightening Vs Hair Rebonding

Both Hair Straightening and Rebonding are treatments to straighten one’s hair. Each of the treatment use different solutions to perform the task. But here I am talking about the basic differences between Hair Straightening and Rebonding.

Hair Straightening is done by applying the straightening solution and ironing the hair. This lasts for nearly 5 or 6 months. It needs proper maintenance and ironing per 6 months.

Hair Rebonding also called as permanent hair straightening involves MULTIPLE OR REPEATED application of solutions combined with heavy hair ironing of thin strands of hair. The whole process will take around 4-6 hours. This lasts more than hair straightening. Since Rebonding use strong chemical solutions, hair damage is occurred to a reasonable extent.

For a better analysis, I have used a table.

Straightening
Rebonding
Less natural looking
More natural looking
Less hair damage
More hair damage
More affecting due to humidity
Less affecting due to humidity
Lasts for nearly 5 or 6 months
Lasts for more than 1 year
Need REGULAR maintenance
Doesn't need REGULAR maintenance

I hope this will help to clear your doubts about this matter. Enjoy!

Cupcakes Vs Muffins

I found that lot people are confused about the difference between muffins and cupcakes. Even I was confused. So I just googled and found the exact differences and similarities of cupcakes and muffins . That's why I decided to do a post on this.

From the word " Cupcake" , anyone can assume that it's a type of cake. In simple terms, cupcakes are a smaller version of cakes baked in a similar way with less quantity. It's usually frosted (topped with icing) and decorated. But it can be without also. Just as cakes, cupcakes are also a dessert or a sweet. Butter is used to prepare cupcakes.

Muffins is a type of bread. It's basically recommended for breakfast or tea which is common in western countries.Muffins are much easier than cupcakes to prepare. And It's also can be frosted or without any icing topping. Oil is used to prepare muffins.

I have posted 2 video recipes for better understanding. Have a Look! :)

Past Vs Present - 1 ( Child Artists : Where are they now? )

Today I decided to write about the child artists who we still like to remember. From Hollywood movies to Bollywood movies , Child artists were appeared in various type of films . In Child oriented films to Typical hero oriented filmss , child artists have portrayed pivotal roles .

Okay , I will start from the smallest child artist those days . Do you remember the cute little baby Bink from Baby's Day Out movie?
Actually there were two babies , twins . Even though there was only one in the movie. Both of them acted in the movie .That was the only movie they acted till date.  They are Adam and Jacob Worton ; Below image is Adam Worton:

Next one is Kevin from Home Alone 1 and 2. Do you remember him? Macaulay Culkin acted as Mischievous Kevin . Till date he has acted in various movies and TV shows.

Then the cute little Alex from Home Alone 3 . This is the way he looks now:

Coming from Hollywood to Bollywood , I don't remember any child oriented movies like above Hollywood movies. But child artists have done a fantastic jobs in some most popular Hindi films .

For example : Do you remember the little Anjali , Rahul (Shahrukh Khan) and Tina (Rani Mukherji) 's daughter who make her father Rahul and Rahul's old best friend Anjali (Kajol) fall in love from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Sana Saeed played as little Anjali and she is a television actress now. But people still remember her as the Little Anjali .

Again from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai , my most favorite character was the little sik boy who doesn't speak a word except in the climax scene . Remember , how cute he was when he was counting stars ?

Then I will also add some more child artists who are now big stars in the industry

Hansika Motwani : Then acted in Koi Mil Gaya and Kyunki Saas bhi kabhi bahu thi tv serial ,Now a popular tamil movie actress who acted in Vettikaran , Mapillai etc .

Imran Khan : Then acted as Young Aamir Khan in  Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak  and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander . Remember ? Papa Kehta Hai (From QSQT) and Pehela Nasha (From JJWS) songs were from those movies . And Look where he is ?

Smoothies Vs Shakes

Basically Smoothie is a kind of beverage which contains blended fruits or chocolate or preferred ingredients with crushed ice. It can also contain frozen fruits, honey, icy ingredients milk, yogurt or ice cream. Smoothies are generally healthier and can use healthy add-ons too.

And shake or generally milkshake is a sweet, cold beverage which is made from milk, ice cream or iced milk, and flavors or sweeteners such as fruit syrup or chocolate sauce. It’s not healthier like former. But you can use healthy add-ons like protein powder and make protein shakes.

Chocolate Cakes Vs Chocolate Brownies

Both Chocolate cakes and brownies are of course taste chocolaty with spongy textures. And both are delicious too. So what is the difference?

While almost every cake recipe calls for the basic ingredients of baking powder and baking soda, most brownie recipes do not. Cake recipes also call for about twice the amount of flour than brownies and a significantly less amount cocoa. These variations made them to taste different. Also brownies are flatter and denser than cakes. They have a cracked top unlike cakes. Normally cakes are fluffy, soft and light.

Brownies are also considered to have a more chocolate flavor than chocolate cakes, not only because of the way they bake, but because their recipes usually call for more cocoa than a normal cake.

Mars Chocolates Vs Ritzbury Chocolates

Mars Vs Rave

Rave is a similar chocolate to Mars bars which has soft caramel & nougat center, together with the rich layer of chocolate. Even the chocolate wrapper looks so similar. But Taste… Not quite similar. The Original Mars bars have different variations such as Almond, Dark and Light, Gold etc. But Rave is made similar too normal mars bar. I have tasted both chocolates.
For me the difference comes with nougat center and chocolate coat.

Snickers Vs Champ

Snickers is the best peanut nougat topped with roasted peanuts and caramel, enrobed in milk chocolate produced by Mars Incorporated.
The Champ chocolate by Ritzbury is also with roasted peanuts, caramelized and coated with rich chocolate.
Both of them look little bit similar from the wrapper. (Sorry! Couldn’t find a blue wrapper one) But you can taste the difference just like I said in Mars Vs Rave.

Bounty Vs Tropical

Bounty has coconut filling covered with sumptuous milk chocolate. Same is the Tropical, which has the Sri Lankan coconut filling. Since I have tasted both I think Bounty is sweeter than Tropical, While Tropical is more fresh coconut filling than Bounty.

Well! These are my opinions on Mars products and Ritzburry products. You can mention your comments in the comment box. Enjoy the post!

Chicken Kheema Vs Chicken Tikka

Chicken Kheema

Kheema is a traditional South Asian meat dish. Originally this word meant minced meat.

·         ¼ teaspoon ginger , finely sliced for topping
Directions:

Add to the pan and stir fry until light golden brown.
Add ground chicken, pullao biryani masala and chicken tikka masala to the skillet and stir fry for around 10 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
Pour into serving plate and top with diced tomato and ginger. Enjoy!

Chicken Tikka

Chicken tikka is a chicken dish in Indian and Pakistani cuisine. It is popular in all over the world. It is traditionally small pieces of boneless chicken in the form of kabab. The word tikka means “pieces". Chicken tikka is also prepared as Masala Chicken Tikka in Punjab , India.
I haven’t made this dish and will prepare it in the future.
